About the Director

Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.— Pablo Picasso

“I have been involved in creating and administrating art programs for over 30 years. In addition, I developed my own work while an artist-in-resident at artist communities in the US and France. I am moved by what happens when artists and learners come together and collaborate. When people are given space, inspiration and time to make art it energizes and transforms them and their communities. That is what Cullowhee Mountain ARTS is all about. I know how good it feels to have time dedicated exclusively to making art without interruptions and to savor creative exchange with other artists.  I want to make sure participants can enjoy these same luxuries, be able to focus on learning and their creative work while leaving housing, meals and evening events to us.
