We Believe

Cullowhee Mountain ARTS believes the arts energize every facet of life and that the arts invigorate communities. We know that when artists work and learn together ideas blossom and grow, lasting relationships are forged, and creativity flourishes.  We are committed to this process. When artists return to their own communities after our workshops, they bring their excitement, imagination, and new visions. Cullowhee Mountain ARTS was born out of a desire to support artists with meaningful and high quality fine art workshops and experiencesMore

Our Workshops

Our Cullowhee Mountain ARTS’ 2017 workshop calendar has been created for all levels of interest and experience with a wide range of media and topics. Our carefully chosen instructors, bearing impressive records of exhibitions and teaching, come from all regions of the US bringing rich experiences, professional knowledge, and expertise. The workshops are structured so that students can focus exclusively on developing their art without the distractions of daily life.

Our Location

Cullowhee Mountain ARTS does not maintain a "bricks and mortar" complex. Our partnerships with Western Carolina University, Lake Logan Episcopal Conference Center,  the Mabel Dodge Luhan House in Taos, NM and The Clancy Building Studio, Snow Hill, Maryland, and  Takapuna Art Supplies Studio, Takapuna, New Zealand, allow us to share resources and keep our overhead sustainable. We maintain an administrative office in historic downtown Sylva, NC, adjacent to Cullowhee, NC -  598 W. Main Street, Sylva, NC 28734
