    Rebecca Crowell will build on the experience of artists who have been working with abstraction for a period of time. The emphasis will be on working in a series, understanding and practicing critique skills, sharing information, and delving into insights and philosophies of abstraction Any painting media is welcome. There will be time in the studio, as well as discussions, exercises, and presentations aimed at deepening the understanding of the creative process as is unique to you. Rebecca will review applications for this workshop to be sure this experience is right for each individual. The class is limited to 12 participants; please submit six jpegs and a description of your art background and experiences in either resume/CV format or a paragraph format. A paragraph will be sent to the accepted artist prior to the retreat to help Rebecca assess group and individual needs. 

    Rebecca Crowell is known for her innovative painting techniques involving cold wax medium and mixed media, and she teaches both in the US and internationally—recent workshops include those in Ireland, Sweden and Italy. She is represented by a number of fine art galleries in various locations including Dublin, Ireland; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Telluride, Colorado; Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Columbia, Missouri. Her representation with Gormleys Fine Art in Dublin has recently led to international exposure, including several European art fairs. Recent honors include being selected for her 2nd commission for the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, a project that involved five large paintings for the new Zayed Research building there.

    • All offerings have caps for attendants. In order to reserve your spot it is advisable to enroll as soon as possible.
    • Registration for the Gloucester workshops have been extended to July 15, pending availability.

    • A full refund is made when a student registers for a workshop that is canceled or already full at the time of registration. 
    • If the payment was made through paypal, refunds are generally credited within 2 to 3 days. 
    • If the payment was made by check, CMA will send a check back to the purchaser within 10 business days, as long as the original purchase check has cleared. 
    • We are unable to make full refunds if you must withdraw from the trip. However, we will credit you up to 50% of your payment, if you withdraw before June 1, 2016. You may use this credit for any other CMA program or workshop within the calendar year. 
    • We strongly advise that you purchase trip cancellation insurance in the event of an unexpected circumstance (death in the family, accident, illness) that would require you cancel your trip. Please contact a travel agent or your insurance agent for assistance.
